My name is Alyssa Maute and I am a junior at Clemson University. This blog was created as part of a PR Principles class I took Fall 2008 with Dr. Mihaela Vovoreanu.
I am very interested in PR and I love to write. I have had the opportunity to write for the Pickens Sentinel News in the Spring of 2008 and had 2 articles published in the paper. This was a great experience for me and I enjoyed it very much. Also in during the Summer of 2008 I had the opportunity to intern for Hearsay PR, a PR company in Charleston, SC. This internship helped me to better understand the PR world and how much work it entails. Some of my main duties included research and using on-line search engines. I also helped to plan a groundbreaking ceremony for a client and helped with finding suitable contacts to send media alerts to.
This blog contains my discoveries and learnings about PR as I continue in my pursuit towards a public relations career. I hope you enjoy the blog and feel free to comment.
